Join us  at Darkroom in Chicago (2210 W. Chicago Ave) for an night of underground dance music from some of Chicago’s best DJs. Expect the unexpected as we rotate DJs every half hour for a journey through music you probably wont hear anywhere else. Funky techno, big bass, jackin’ house, glitch, fidget and more are all on the menu for this extended tag team set. Come shake your ass with us for an unpretentious dance party with a warm inviting vibe.

Many of you know Lee Jarvis from his impressive discography on labels such as Lost My Dog, 4Kenzo, 1200 Traxx, Trendy Mullet, Fazed Music and Revolutionary Music (as Earl Jives).  He also ran one of London’s hottest jackin’ house nights right up until he moved  to Chicago.  His party, called Moochin,  showcased artists such as Joey Youngman, the Littlemen, Quirk Burglars, Massimo Dacosta and our own Shifty Johnson to name a few.  He has certainly established himself at the forefront of the global jackin’ house community.  Mr. Jarvis now plans to explore the deeper shades of house further than he ever has before.

I have just started DJing again using my real name – Jeremiah Seraphine.  For the past seven years I’ve been using an alter ego to explore different sounds – jackin’ house, tech house, minimal, fidget.  I’ve continued to collect and play deep house – keeping true to my roots, but only at intimate gatherings on my roof deck or private parties.

This collaboration with Mr. Jarvis is exciting because I’m able to bring the experience of the last seven years to bear on the concept of deep house music. Those of you who were around in the early days of 3 Degrees, when I was a deep house DJ, will surely hear something familiar in this new groove.  And those who’ve come to know my style over the last seven years will also hear similarities.  The style is sexy, groovy and smooth with a little bit of funk to keep it interesting.  The tracks we’ve been selecting for this project are by producers who pay unusual attention to the production quality of every element.

I know I’ve written quite a bit just to introduce a Wednesday night gig, but we are excited for this new take on an old adventure -spinning deep house.  So, you are now formally invited to join us, Lee Jarvis and myself,  for the first of many deep house sets in Chicago.  January 20th we will be at Martini Ranch from midnight until 4am.  There is no cover.  Come check out the sound!

Ryan Murphy is a solid new addition to the group.  He has played drums and/or percussion for Poi Dog Pondering, J Davis Trio, Moto and Vee Dee.

Lake Street Collective

The band is signed to the Chicago based label Revolutionary Music and currently has a single available entitled Here All Along by Bryan Ford feat. Ava Fain.  The band performs the Swank Mix and the Goulet Mix live.  They have more music coming our on the forthcoming compilation album, Revolutionary Music presents Organica Lounge.

Lake Street Collective

Revolutionary Music and illmeasures, two crews who are responsible for years of legendary Chicago loft parties joined forces a year ago as the Lake Street Collective to bring the loft party vibe to legal venues around the city. They celebrate their 1 year anniversary on January 9th at Darkroom. The party features live performances by Bryan Ford & Goulet and Brad Miner along with DJs Striz, Jeremiah Seraphine, Lee Jarvis and Justin Reed. $5 Cover and free before 11pm. 9p-3a.

Lee Jarvis and Luke Solomon at Smart Bar

Lee Jarvis, a recording artist from the Revolutionary Music camp is debuting at the legendary Smart Bar in Chicago this Saturday. He’ll be joining Luke Solomon of Music For Freaks behind the decks. Don’t sleep on this one! Quirky jackin house music all night long.
