Sista Stroke is the newest host for De La Soul’s internet radio station

Revolutionary Music recording artist, Sista Stroke has embarked on yet another endeavor. Starting Friday, March 05, 2010 she will be the newest edition to the online radio movement, De La Soul’s Dugout Radio (DLS).

Dubbing her show Freak Freely Fridays, Sista Stroke will not only be the first female jock with a consistent program on DLS but, she will have the ONLY House Music show on the predominately Hip Hop station.

Broadcasting every Friday at 6pm EST (5pm CST, 11pm GMT), she is ready for the challenge of filling the big shoes of Dummy The DJ, the DJ who maintained that two hour block for over six months on DLS with his popular show “Crash Test Dummy.” Dummy The DJ (the official DJ for Interscope Records recording artist Common) discovered and introduced her to DLS through his morning show “The Breakfast Club” familiarizing her with their dedicated audience. Later he asked her to fill in for his Friday night show. Easily enlisting the crowd, by the end of the show Dummy approached her about taking over his Friday nights with the thought of bringing diversity to the station.

“This is a big achievement,” admits Sista Stoke.

Freak Freely Fridays airs every Friday 6pm EST on DLS radio.

On Wednesday May 20th, DJ Shifty Johnson appeared on Sista Stroke’s Brick City House show on ChicagoHouseFM.com. He dropped a sick set of tech house and house with elements of electro, minimal and fidget house worked in. This show is now available as a free download and podcast at SistaStroke.Podomatic.com. Shifty’s set begins about halfway into the recording. Sista Stroke drops a rockin’ set of house music first. Between sets, Sista Stroke interviews Shifty. We were impressed and shocked at how well behaved he was during the interview. He must have been sedated.

Fresh from an appearance on the DJ Times Shortlist on Sirius XM satellite radio, Shifty Johnson is set to spin as the guest DJ on Sista Stroke’s London based Brick City House internet radio show this Wednesday (May 20, 2009). His set was another chunky batch of jackin’ tech house, house, minimal and electro like the one he dropped at Saturday’s Safe House party.

Revolutionary Music recording artist Sista Stroke has been busy since moving away from Chicago two years ago. She’s in her second location now – London. Yes, I am bit jealous. We talked about doing it, but she went and did it. Since landing in London she has been making moves. Not only is she dropping a new release on the German label Privat Box, but she is also launching an internet radio show called Brick City House next week on www.chicagohousefm.com. The show is scheduled every Wednesday, 7pm-9pm London time. That’s 1pm-3pm Central Time and 11am-1pm West Coast time. The show starts next Wednesday. Check it out!

Sista Stroke’s next Revolutionary Music release that has been signed, O.G.’s and Good Times, is an ill downtempo funk gem that is getting love from potential liscensors. It is coming out on Revolutionary Music’s forthcoming downtempo, chillout, jazztronica and trip hop compilation Organica Lounge. Good things to come! We’ll keep you posted.
