There are so many genres that almost categorize the downtempo grooves, funky big beats, and airy chill-out that our artists create. Terms like trip hop, acid jazz, nu jazz, Ibiza chill-out, mushroom jazz, jazztronica and chill-out lounge music are thrown around, but none of them seem to completely capture the sound. We’re OK with that. In fact, our artists pride themselves on defying genres.
Organica Lounge
Organica Lounge is what we chose to be the catch-all phrase for the downtempo/big beat compilation we are releasing. We combined the terms Electronica and Organic, putting the emphasis on Organic, because most of our artists play real instruments rather than relying on samples. In 2010 we are releasing a full length compilation entitled Organica Lounge that showcases some of the most interesting big beat, downtempo, and chill-out, music being released. It features artists such as Bryan Ford, Elev8tor, Burton L., Justin Reed, Sista Stroke, After School Special, and Goulet.
