Join us on Old Oak Tap’s 88 seat outdoor patio for summertime inspired rhythms including Baleric chill-out, jazztronica, funk, rare groove, broken beat, space disco and house music from our rotating residents and guest DJs courtesy of Revolutionary Music and illmeasures.
The sound indoors will be fortified to keep the vibe going until close.
The kitchen closes at midnight.
Music begins at 6pm.

Bryan Ford & Goulet to headline Lake Street Collective Anniversary Bash on January 9th

(Chicago, IL) Bryan Ford & Goulet might just be the next big thing to emerge from Chicago’s rich music scene. The trio of Bryan Ford (guitar, slide guitar, drums), Goulet (bass, keys, Moog) and the newly added Ryan Murphy (percussion, drums) play a continuous mix of electro-organic music, jumping from instrument to instrument, belting our phat grooves ranging from mid-tempo broken beat to disco to house – all original music. They’ve rocked every show to date including an opening slot for the legendary Amp Fiddler at the 2009 Silver Room Block Party.

Ryan Murphy is a solid new addition to the group. He has played drums and/or percussion for Poi Dog Pondering, J Davis Trio, Moto and Vee Dee.

Lake Street Collective

The band is signed to the Chicago based label Revolutionary Music and currently has a single available entitled Here All Along by Bryan Ford feat. Ava Fain. The band performs the Swank Mix and the Goulet Mix live. They have more music coming our on the forthcoming compilation album, Revolutionary Music presents Organica Lounge.

Bryan Ford & Goulet are headlining the 1 Year Anniversary of the Lake Street Collective which will be at Darkroom on Saturday January 9, 2010. The Lake Street Collective is the collaboration between Revolutionary Music and illmeasures, two legendary underground party crews who are working together to bring the loft party vibe to legal venues around Chicago. Also performing that night: DJ Striz, Jeremiah Seraphine, Brad Miner (Live P.A.), Lee Jarvis (UK) and Justin Reed. $8 Cover/Free before 11p. 9p-3a.

Shifty Johnson’s mix for Sirius XM satellite radio available for download

Back on May 13th Shifty Johnson appeared on the DJ Times Shortlist on Sirius XM radio to rock his signature blend of gritty tech funk and degenerate disco. Shifty Johnson’s identity was revealed to thousands of listeners even after the host was asked to keep it a secret. For most who were listening, it meant nothing. However, for those who were trying to keep two worlds from colliding it was the beginning of the end, an end which we have yet to see. Stay tuned, enjoy the mix and remember never to take yourself too seriously.

If you have yet to check out Bryan Ford & Goulet perform live, then do yourself a favor and come out to their show along with Rainbo Video, Vyle, Keith Masters and Boom Juice at the Abbey Pub tomorrow night (Friday July 24). They perform from 10:55pm – 11:40pm.

Bryan Ford & Goulet play live house, mid tempo grooves and trip hop. When the power outage cut their set short at the Silver Room Block Party the crowd was left screaming for more. If you were one of those people – here is your chance. They have some brand new tunes ready for tomorrow night.

This Safe House podcast features a live performance from Revolutionary Music’s Bryan Ford & Goulet. The set was recorded live at the Safe House during Revolutionary Music’s artist showcase. They have been causing quite a stir since their debut. Last night, despite a couple power outages, they absolutely killed it at Silver Room’s annual block party. They left the crowd screaming for more, which the next act, Detroit’s Amp Fiddler, surely appreciated.

Bryan Ford & Goulet will be headlining a show this Friday night (July 24) at the Abbey Pub. Also performing is the Electro hip hop artist Keith Masters.

August 7th, Bryan Ford & Goulet will be performing at the Lake Street Collective event at Chicago’s Darkroom along with Shifty Johnson, Striz, Adrienne Sanchez, Justin Reed and DJ FORM.

Safe House Podcast re-run – The Baldwin Brothers live at the Safe House

This is yet another classic Safe House Podcast. It is a live performance from the Chicago based trip hop and funk group the Baldwin Brothers. This was a great night that included a live performance from the Champagne Brothers. It was also the first time DJ FORM graced the Safe House decks. Classic! Enjoy.

DJ Goulet crafted this beautiful mix a couple years ago for the Safe House podcast. It is one of my favorite mixes for listening to at work. Chilled out and textured, this mix is soothing. I know you’ll dig it.

DJ Goulet is down in Texas for the winter busy taunting us on Facebook with reports of 70+ degree weather. He plans to make his way back to Chicago when it thaws out. We can’t wait for his return. He is our genius sound engineer and he is missed. He has also been busy in the studio with one song on the upcoming compilation Organica Lounge, two deep house cuts coming out in the coming months and some remixes on the horizon
